You have a space, and something you want it to do when people walk in. We build that: the sensing that reads the room, the picture and sound that answer, and the machine underneath holding all of it on one clock.
The work is designed backwards from month three, when the person opening the building has never met us. The venue holds one switch at the wall. Everything after that switch is our problem, including what happens when the power blips at two in the afternoon.
We measure the room before anything is designed: its light across the day, its noise floor, its sightlines, and where the power really is. Those numbers decide the sensor, the throw distance and the speaker placement, so the design starts from the building rather than from a render.
Camera, depth, touch, proximity and audio. The sensor follows the room's light and the behaviour you want from people, and it is calibrated on site rather than on a bench. The interaction goes in front of strangers at full scale early, because watching them use it is the only test that counts.
Single projector, multi-screen, or mapping onto a real surface, colour managed for the wall it lands on in the light the venue actually has. Sound runs off the same clock as the image, placed for the room's acoustics, at levels that stay legible when a crowd arrives.
One box, specified for the venue. It boots straight into the work, recovers on its own after a power cut, and reports in when something is wrong. We commission on site, leave the piece running unattended, and watch it through the first week before handing over the runbook.
Either way works. We can specify the sensors, projectors, speakers and machine for you to buy, or source and commission the lot. The specification is written down regardless, so no part of the piece depends on something only we can find.
That is the assumption we design to. The machine boots into the work, comes back on its own after a power cut, and reports in when something goes wrong. Opening the building should mean turning on the mains.
Yes. The survey covers what is already installed, and we keep whatever holds up. Reusing a venue's projectors or speakers is fine as long as we can measure them first.
